Chief Executive Officer
Lee brings extensive commercial experience gained over 20 years' in the pharmaceutical industry. Most recently he held the position of Vice President, Head of Commercial for Europe and International Markets at Jazz Pharmaceuticals, and previously held several senior commercial positions including Regional Vice President at EUSA Pharma, prior to its acquisition by Jazz, and Director of Sales Effectiveness at the specialty oncology and critical care company Zeneus Pharma. Lee has held a number of management positions in sales and marketing at Merck, Sharp and Dohme (MSD).
Chief Financial Officer
Emma has more than 10 years' experience in healthcare companies. She completed the ACCA qualification as a chartered accountant and has acted in both financial and commercial director positions, including the senior management team of EUSA Pharma prior to its acquisition by Jazz Pharmaceuticals.
Jeffrey S. Hackman
President US Operations
Jeff brings 30 years' commercial pharmaceutical experience, including extensive expertise gained in the oncology field. He joins EUSA from rare disease company Novelion Therapeutics, where he was acting CEO. Prior to this he was Senior VP and Head of US Internal Medicine / Oncology at Shire Inc. Previously, he was responsible for establishing the North American oncology commercial division for Baxalta, following several years leading US commercial operations for Sigma Tau. He also held senior roles in a number of other pharmaceutical companies.
VP Global Head of Medical
With more than 15 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry gained through medical director and medical affairs positions at Takeda, GSK, Actelion and Lundbeck, Jonathan joined EUSA Pharma as regional Medical Director (prior to its acquisition by Jazz Pharmaceuticals) and played a key role in the medical department as Head of International Medical Affairs.
VP Head of Global Business Development
With a PhD in Immunology, 8 years pre-clinical and translational research experience at the University of Oxford and UCB Pharma, Ben brings considerable experience in biotech and biopharma start-up and academic spin-out company development. He has completed Healthcare entrepreneurship programmes at INSEAD, Paris and Saïd Business School.
VP Global Human Resources
Claire worked for 15 years at Dutch Rabobank Group across various roles before joining EUSA Pharma in April 2015. She has a Master’s in Human Resource Management and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
VP Global Head of Legal & Compliance
Dev has over 10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries in a variety of regional and international legal and compliance roles, in private practice in a City law firm and at UCB, Boehringer Ingelheim and Biogen. As well as being a lawyer, Dev is a qualified medical doctor and worked in various teaching hospital posts for several years.
Carsten is a highly experienced commercial professional having spent more than 25 years in the pharmaceutical industry building on his knowledge of oncology and rare disease. He has held a variety of international leadership roles including CEO of Abeona Therapeutics Inc, CCO at Alexion and Head of Europe at Amgen. He also holds a PhD in Molecular Biology & Biochemistry.
VP Head of Clinical Development
Darrel is a haematologist / oncologist with 20 years’ clinical development experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining EUSA, he was VP Clinical Development for Pfizer’s global oncology organization. Darrel has also held roles as Director of Clinical Research at Sanofi-Aventis Oncology and Associate Director of Clinical Research at Pharmacia Oncology. He gained his MD and PhD in Microbiology from the Boston University School of Medicine.
VP Technical Operations
Gary has over 20 years’ experience in biologics development with an emphasis on CMC and manufacturing operations gained primarily in a contract manufacturing setting in Europe, the United States and Asia. He has held senior management positions at Microscience, Emergent Biosolutions and most recently VHsquared Ltd where he served as Chief Operating Officer. Gary holds a first degree in biochemistry, a master’s degree in microbiology and a PhD which combined these subjects.
