Products:
RAPYDAN®, a medicated plaster, is a patented system of topical anesthetic delivery consisting of a eutectic mixture of lidocaine 70mg and tetracaine 70mg used with a controlled heating-assisted drug delivery (CHADD®) system.
RAPYDAN® is indicated for surface anaesthesia of the normal intact skin in connection with needle puncture in adults and children from 3 years of age, and in cases of superficial surgical procedures on normal intact skin in adults.
RAPYDAN® works by combining two anesthetic agents (lidocaine and tetracaine) with a controlled heating-assisted drug delivery system (CHADD®) which warms the skin. Warming the skin at the site of drug delivery increases drug solubility and skin permeability, induces local vasodilatation (widening of blood vessels) and facilitates rapid delivery of the local anaesthetics into the skin.
