EUSA Pharma strengthens Board

EUSA Pharma strengthened its board, announcing the appointment of Rolf Stahel as Chairman and William (Bill) Crouse & Göran Ando as non-executive Directors.

Throughout a distinguished career Rolf Stahel has a proven track record of building highly capable organisations most notably leading Shire through six mergers and acquisitions to increase its market capitalization from approximately $30m in 1994 to $3.2bn in 2003.

William (Bill) Crouse is Managing Director and a General Partner of HealthCare Ventures, one of the world’s largest venture capital firms specializing in biotechnology. Bill has over forty years of experience in the pharmaceutical and diagnostics industry in general management, international operations, strategic planning, licensing, acquisitions, new product development and sales and marketing

Göran Ando has substantial experience at the top of the global pharmaceutical industry including senior positions at the Glaxo Group and Pharmacia (Pfizer) and as chief executive for the Celltech Group. Currently Göran is Chairman of Novexel SA and Inion Oy, Vice Chairman of Novo Nordisk A/S and S*Bio Pte Ltd and member of the boards of Enzon Pharmaceuticals, NicOx S.A., A-Bio Pharma Pte Ltd, Bio*One Capital Pte Ltd and Novo A/S.

Joining the existing board members of Bryan Morton (CEO) , Jim Phillips (President of EU & SVP Corporate Development) and Petri Vainio (non-executive Director), the board is now well placed to guide EUSA Pharma through a period of substantial and sustained growth.
